Tarmo Johannes:

The Computer Duo - technology as both a tool and a partner in performance.

Tarmo Johannes is a versatile musician currently playing flute in a variety of contemporary music ensembles. Since 2009 he has been actively involved using Csound that has turned into an essential part of his creative output - interactive sound-games, computer aided performance tools, performances of electro- acoustic music, sound installations. Tarmo Johannes is currently also the main developer of CsoundQt, the most used Csound front-end.

Travel Bursaries


We can offer a very limited number of travel bursaries of €100 each to assist those attending the conference on a budget.
To apply for a bursary, please write to iain "dot" mccurdy "at" nuim "dot" ie or any of the other conference organisers describing why you wish to attend and why a bursary would be of particular assistance to you. Recipients will be informed on the 21st November, 2016.



How to get here:



From the airport to Maynooth by bus/train:

A direct bus service is provided by Dualway Airport Hopper. €7.20 single. Journey time is approx 45 minutes.

If you prefer to travel via Dublin city centre take the Dublin Bus 747 (25 mins/€6.00 single) as far as Connolly train station and from there, take a train direct to Maynooth (40 mins/€5.50). Hint: trains to Sligo also stop at Maynooth.

Campus Map:


The Bewerunge Room, O'Callaghan Room and the New Music Room are all in the music department in Logic house on the south campus (7 on the map).
Riverstown Hall is also on the south campus (21 on the map).
The students union is on the top edge of the north campus.
